Nutcracker 2011

Performance #1

This is MaKayla's second year in the Nutcracker. She once again has two parts: a Candy (a golden kiss) and an Angel. She was really hoping to be an angel and started jumping up and down when the parts were released! We were so happy for her. She was a candy last year. She didn't mind being a candy as long as she wasn't a peppermint stick again. Tonight was the first of the four performances.

They won't allow you to use a flash so it is very difficult to get descent pictures. This is the time of day when the kids are really tired as well as the parents!She wanted a picture with her Nutcracker while she was in costume. They are only allowed to come out in costume after the third performance. I wish she could have come out in her angel costume.MaKayla and the Nutcracker!MaKayla and the Mouse King!Our procrastination paid off for once! I let her wear her costume longer than I should have. We were burning up our time to run out and get something to eat. Most of the parents had already left the building. It worked in our favor! We ended up being able to get photos with the Mouse King and the Nutcracker. How cool is that? We didn't have much time left so we opted for McDonald's for a quick dinner. Not my favorite but I was so hungry anything would suffice at this point!

MaKayla you did a wonderful job in the Nutcracker. It was quite a committment for a five year old girl! We are really proud of you sweetheart! You are a beautiful dancer! We love you very much! All the way to the moon and back! Love, Mommy & Daddy
