Miracle League!

June 28, 2011 - Andy has been Michael's buddy (Angel in the Outfield) with Miracle League for the second year. He recognized Andy and gets excited when he sees him. It is awesome to watch the two of them play baseball together. Michael is an excellent hitter!

While we were watching the game, Noah made a friend on the playground. He even climbed to the top all by himself.

Batter up, MaKayla is ready for a home run!

Noah is a hard hitter!

Markus & Nissa's Baby Shower!

June 26, 2011 - I made this cake for my brother and his girlfriend's baby shower. It was my first fondant character cake. I was happy with how it turned out. I was even happier that it made the 4 1/2 hour drive to Illinois in one piece.
Markus, Nissa and soon to be baby girl!

The table of gifts! The Moms did a great job hosting the shower.

My little brother is cutting the cake!

Baby bump!

When I got home from my weekend in Illinois without the kiddos this was greeting my on the driveway. How sweet!

A visit with Magma!

June 25, 2011 - My Mom and I picked up my Grandma from the nursing home to enjoy some quality time. We picked up hot fudge sundaes (one of my Magma's favorites) and went to Franklin Creek park. My Magma was having a really good day which I was thankful for! She got excited when she saw me at the nursing home which brought tears to my eyes.
Magma and me!

After we were about eaten alive by misquotes we visited Franklin Creek Grist Mill. We had never been there before so it was a time that I will always treasure.

This is the outside of the mill.

Magma is enjoying watching how the mill runs.

This is the big wheel that turns the outside water wheel.

This is the outside of the building and the wheel that makes it all happen.

Hair Cut!

June 24, 2011 - Andy cuts his own hair and decided to try to give Noah a hair cut. Noah did very well and sat still.
My handsome man with his ice cream cone reward for being a good boy! Now he really looks like his Daddy!

Potty Training Again!

June 23, 2011 - Noah has filled up sticker charts in the past and then regressed. Recently he started showing an interest again and today he completed his sticker chart. Way to go Noah!
We went to ToysRUs so that Noah could pick out a prize for filling his chart. I just hope that he keeps up the good work and does not regress again! Noah picked out Finn Missile from the CARS 2 Movie that we have not yet seen.

Noah went to bed with Finn Missile and his cowboy boots that I picked up at a garage sale. The boots were brand new and still in the box for $10. I was so excited because he just grew out of the pair that we bought when we were in Texas.

Swim Class!

June 20, 2011 - This is the kids third swim class. Noah has moved up to the shrimp class. This was his first class without Daddy and he was hesitant but he did great!
Waiting his turn!
MaKayla moved up to the Pike class.
After swimming, the kids were tired out. They snuggled in on the couch before bedtime.

Playing in the Rain!

June 19, 2011 - Father's Day was a very rainy day! No thunder or lighting just a steady rain, perfect for playing in! The kids couldn't wait to get outside. I remember playing in the rain as a kid.
They had a blast jumping in the puddles!
As if rain wasn't enough, they decided to get out the water shooters.
Noah thought it was funny to shoot me!
MaKayla looks like she is up to no good!
Good Night Daddy Day Hugs from his little man!
Hugs from Daddy's Princess!
For Andy's Father's Day dinner I made him a spinach crust pizza. A lady from work gave him the recipe and he has been wanting to try it. I was not sure about it at first but it really did taste good!

Recipe: 16oz frozen chopped spinach (thawed and well drained)

4 eggs (or 1 cup egg beaters)

1/2 cup Parmesan

minced garlic & cayenne pepper to taste

Mix well and spread on pizza pan

Bake 15 minutes at 400 degrees

Flip, add toppings and bake another 10-15 minutes (depending on toppings)

Enjoy!

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to all the men in our lives! My Dad, Andy's Dad, My Grandpa and all the other Father's that we know. We hope your day is as special as you are!

June 16, 2011 - MaKayla is hard at working sanding the box that the kids made for Daddy for Father's Day!
Noah's turn!
MaKayla starts the staining process!
Noah completes the task!
June 18, 2011 - Home Depot had a Father's Day project for kids. They each made Daddy a little tool box. Noah took the job very seriously!
Concentration at it's finest!
Tool boxes are completed! Now it is just getting them to keep it a secret!
MaKayla picked out this cute panda card for Daddy. She was so proud to give it to him because it sang a song.
Noah picked out a car card, how fitting!
Daddy loved his cards!
The kids were so excited to give Daddy his special box that they made.
The kids made lots of home made gifts. Here are the sun catchers that I don't think I would do again with kids this young.
The kids really wanted to get this M&M candy dispenser for Daddy. It sits in Daddy's workshop and the kids are always wanting to go in there for a little treat. I think there was an alternative motive behind the gift =)
