Learning to peddle!

May 31, 2011 - Noah learned to peddle his bike all by himself!!! It took him awhile to get the hang of going forward and not backwards. It was very difficult pushing him when he would peddle backwards and hit the breaks. He has finally conquered the challenge! We are so proud of our little man!

Memorial Weekend!

May 28, 2011 - We headed Up North for Memorial Weekend. Of course we had to eat at the Wolf Pack Cafe and have their famous pancakes. Chocolate chip for Andy, MaKayla and Noah. Triple Berry for me!
Papa mowed the lawn. Believe it or not, this old fashioned mower works perfectly for the little bit of grass that has to be mowed.
Noah and Daddy caught a fish right away!

Not long after, MaKayla and Daddy caught one!

This Memorial was quite different than years past with cold weather. The kids wanted to dip their toes in the cold water but ended up running in. We were cold just sitting on the dock but it didn't bother the kids to run and play in the water. It was quite a sight with sweatshirts and jeans. Kids can tolerate so much more than we can.

Papa and Nana with their new Smart Phones. They were like a couple of teenagers!

Burrrrrr!

It was in the 50's most of the day! I think MaKayla's face shows how cold it was.

May 29, 2011 - A little bit warmer today in the 60's. MaKayla is getting some love from Nana.

Chilly or not we went for ice cream!

Noah loved fishing with Daddy!

Both kids snuggled up with Nana on the couch to watch a movie.

Noah and Papa are telling jokes and making each other laugh. The word of the trip was "butt crack", not my favorite word! Actually Noah was saying this before the trip and Papa kept laughing at him which just encouraged it even more.

9pm - we were watching a movie when I heard lots of snoring. All three are out like lights!

May 30, 2011 - Happy Memorial Day!

Thank you to all who have or are serving our country! Special thanks goes to my Grandpa Johnson who served in WWII, my Grandpa Masterson who served in the Korean War, my brother-in-law Stephen who was just deployed for his second tour in Iraq, and to my brother-in-law Michael who is currently stationed in Texas.

We just got to the flea market when Noah announced he had to go potty. It is so much easier with boys when there are trees around!

We went for a walk on the bear skin trail.

MaKayla and I took a walk together during which we had a visitor jump out near us.

More swim time in the cold water! This time I decided to just put their suits on them.

Daddy and MaKayla took the row boat out to fish. She is such a girl, she complained about how dirty it was.

Poor Papa tried everything to catch a fish but the fish got the better of him on this trip!

I loved how Noah stood with his hands tucked in to the life vest.

Papa & Nana

Daddy fell backwards in the boat

Noah and Daddy in the boat. It was cute, Noah tried with all his might to row the boat out on the water. He did with a little help from Daddy!

Another trip for ice cream

The kids love the pig logs at the ice cream place.

Noah's turn

During bath time I discovered that MaKayla had picked up a visitor on her side while we were outside during he day. Her not so friendly tick was hanging on for dear life and we had a difficult time getting him to let go.

Squirrel Feeder

May 25, 2011 - I thought it was cute how the squirrel sits on the feeder that the kids gave to me for Mother's Day. It is quite comical watching them!

Cake Class - Level 3 Completed!

May 23, 2011 - Tonight I completed my Cake Decorating Class Level 3 class. This was the most challenging by far but fun! In this class we learned gum paste and fondant. For the final class we had to cover a cake in fondant and decorate it with the techniques that we had learned. I made 3 gum paste daisies. I wish I had time and materials to do a border but I didn't want to waste the money on it.

Running in Puddles!

May 22, 2011 - We had another hail storm. It was really coming down hard!

Another picture of the hail and rail
Daddy had to put the hose away after the storm. Noah decided to follow Daddy outside. The next thing I know he is running in the ditch full of water. Boys will be boys!

Noah had a blast in the soggy grass and water

He played for about 30 minutes before I made him come inside for a bath. He said he didn't need a bath because he was already taking one.

What would life be like if we lived more like a child?

Cars Race Track

May 22, 2011 - Daddy and Noah finally put together his Disney Cars Piston Cup 500 Track set. I can't believe how fast the cars go around it. It is really cool and surprisingly durable!

It is like watching a cat with a laser light.

Bathroom Remodel Update #5

May 21, 2011 - Andy is making some good headway with the bathroom.
Andy is doing an intricate pattern which is time consuming.

May 22, 2011 - The inside walls will have shelves built in for shampoo/soap bottles.

I love how it is turning out!

Start Your Engines!

May 19, 2011 - I found this Lighting McQueen Power wheels on Craigslist for a very reasonable price and couldn't pass it up. Noah absolutely loves it! The only problem is that I can't get him inside now. It literally is a fight. Hopefully after the newness wares off he won't have such separation anxiety from leaving it=)
MaKayla is trying to see if she can beat him.

Happy 3rd Birthday Noah!

May 16, 2011 - Noah woke up in his little bed for the last time.

The birthday fairy left a race track for Noah. He wanted this racetrack in the worst way at a garage sale that we went to. By the time we went to get money and went back it was gone. Good thing the birthday fairy was able to find one.
I found this plush mater that says lots of different phrases. Noah loves it and laughs every time!
Andy and I spent the whole day with Noah and told him he could do anything he wanted. It took forever for him to even want to leave the house. Can you blame him with all the new toys? He did get a call from Geoffry from ToysRUs and a gift card and birthday card was sent in the mail. The only place he wanted to go was McDonald's for a happy meal and ToysRUs to get his balloon and spend his gift card. He picked out one of the new Cars 2 toys. He choose a Lightning McQueen cars that you build yourself.

Daddy and Noah built the car as soon as we got back home.

It is fun to watch Noah study the pieces and figure out how they go together. He was definitely blessed with his Dad's analytical thinking!

Noah was so excited for his birthday this year. I have been hearing for many weeks, "my birthday coming soon?" I no longer have a baby but a big boy now. It is bittersweet! I love watching my kids grow, learn and become more independent. Part of me is sad to loss my babies.

Noah got his big boy bed that he has been asking for. It is official, he is a "Big Boy". While he was napping in the living room, Andy and I got his new bed put together. When we showed it to him he asked for his tent right away.

He has been wanting a big boy bed and race car tent for a long time. He was so excited when he finally got it. MaKayla decided to give Noah her bed rails because she didn't need them anymore.

Noah has also been asking for a lunch box. MaKayla has one that she takes with her when she goes to work with Daddy. Noah decided he wanted to have a picnic for dinner. Who am I to say no to the birthday boy?

We almost forgot about cake until MaKayla reminded us!

Noah was happy to oblige when it was bed time. He was so excited to sleep in his new bed. He asked me to sleep with him and of course I did.

One excited birthday boy!
