Trying New Things

Tuesday, April 24th
I put one of MaKayla’s teething toys in the freezer for the first time. She loved how it felt on her gums. Her little hands were freezing after holding onto it for 5 minutes.
Friday, April 27th
MaKayla tried her second vegetable, yummy squash. Well, she didn’t think it was quite yummy but she actually did eat some of it. Our little girl does not like solid very much. We have got to get her to start eating some real food! If you look close you can see two little teeth on the bottom.
What is this stuff they keep shoving into my mouth?
Sorry, I couldn’t resist all these cute pictures of sour faces.

Sunday, April 29th
Last night, we brushed MaKayla two little pearly whites for the first time. She LOVED it! She didn’t want me to stop.

7 Months Old!

Friday, April 20th
MaKayla is 7 months old!! She is such a big girl sitting up all by herself, had two teeth and her personality is really blosooming. I wish I could slow down time!
Sunday, April 22nd
We sat MaKayla in the grass for the first time. She loves textures and really enjoyed feeling the grass.
Doesn’t she look cute in her little hat?

Our visit to Tucson, AZ

MaKayla & Logan

MaKayla and I left on April 12 for Tucson, AZ to visit my sister Roxanne, her husband Stephen and my nephews Zachary (7) and Logan (6 months on April 20th). We had an early start to the day with leaving the house at 4:00am. We flew out of Rockford, which was so nice! Our connection in Denver was tight and we made it to the plane with 5 minutes to spare. It was so nice to see everyone and finally meet my new little nephew Logan who I have to say is as cute as a button. We were exhausted when we arrived to Tucson so we too a little nap. That evening I ended up with a stomach flu. What a way to spend your vacation.

Friday I spend the day resting and building up strength.

Saturday we stayed around the house and rested and relaxed for the most part. We did go to a bead store in the afternoon to look for beads for Laura’s wedding jewelry. MaKayla and Logan didn’t want anything to do with our little shopping trip and they cut it short for us. The half our ride home was quite loud!

Sunday we went to Reed Park in Tucson. It was a beautiful warm but windy day. We enjoyed ourselves and took LOTS of pictures. The park has a waterfall, rose garden, play area, little train that you can ride a zoo (we did not go because Mommy & Daddy want to take MaKayla together this summer) and lots more.

Monday we were suppose to fly home but my flight was cancelled.

Tuesday we flew home. We left the house at 11:45am. Departed Tucson at 1:30pm. Arrived Denver at 4:23pm. Departed Denver at 7:06pm. Arrived in Rockford at 10:15pm. Arrived home at 11:00pm. Fell over in bed at 12:30am. It was a very long day! MaKayla was a very good girl!

WARNING: LOTS OF PICTURES AHEAD!!!!

I was finally feeling better so we decided to go to the park and enjoy the warm weather. It was warm but very windy! It was nice to see some of the beauty of Tucson but it was even better to be able to spend some quality time with family.

We were able to meet up with Sue, Chris and Eden at the park. It had been such a long time, it was so nice to see them and the newest member of their family. Eden is such a little cutie!

Sue & I with our girls!

Saying goodbye is never easy but this seemed especially hard! Roxy and I did our fair share of crying. Stephen took us to the airport and helped me to the ticket counter. My flight was canceled until the next day. YEAH!!! One more day in Tucson! We decided to surprise Roxy. We put MaKayla in her car seat at the front door then we rang the doorbell and ran to the side of the house. Poor Roxy freaked out when she opened the door. We had a nice evening together and were off the next day.

MaKayla did really well with the long day of travel. She played with the man’s watch who was sitting next to us on the plane and found lots of fun with Mommy’s pretzel bag. She was such a good girl! Daddy was very happy to have his little girl back!

The little stinker would eat for us so we let her have the spoon. She puts everything in her mouth. It may be a little messy but at least some of the food made it in her mouth.
