Happy Thanksgiving & Catching Up

Okay, I know it has been a whole months since I have last posted. I am sorry! For all of those who are needing a MaKayla fix, here you go!
December 2nd, 2007
Daddy brought some snow in for MaKayla to play with. She was more interested in eating it.
Mmmm, good stuff! She was so cute, when her hands would get too cold she would put it down and shake her hands. Then she would pick it back up for another bite. Her little hands where bright red when I decided it was time to throw the snow away and warm up her little hands.

MaKayla found this little pink Santa hat in the Christmas decorations and loves to wear it. She kept bringing it over to Andy or I to put it back on her whenever it feel off. We would tell he how pretty she looked and she would be all smiles.

MaKayla loved pulling out all my Christmas decorations. It kept her busy for hours. Who new that beads and garland could be so much fun. Daddy helped her get all decked out for Christmas!

MaKayla riding the pony at William’s Tree Farm. She didn’t want to get off when the ride was over. Her pony’s name was Peanut.

Our annual Christmas tree hunting tradition. Every year the day after Thanksgiving we go and cut down our Christmas tree. Normally we go to Blackhawk but they were closed down this year. We liked going their because you could drive up and down the aisles, get out and cut your tree and then get back in the truck. Then we go to William’s Tree Farm afterwards for some yummy goodies and ornaments. This year we went to William’s for our tree as well. They don’t have the option of driving up and down the aisles so we walked to the nearest trees and picked out the perfect tree in record time of less than 2 minutes. No joke!
Here is Daddy and MaKayla cutting down our perfect tree.
MaKayla having fun outdoors. I just love this picture!
She just loved playing among the trees.

Happy Thanksgiving!! We went to Vickie and Nicks for Thanksgiving this year. We have so much to be thankful for this year! God has blessed us in so many ways and we are so grateful! MaKayla enjoyed the food and then had Uncle Nick read her favorite books to her.
November 18th, 2007
MaKayla had her first stomach flu. Not one of the first that I was looking forward to! It is so hard to watch your child suffer in pain. I wish that I could have taken the sickness from her. My poor baby!

MaKayla is all dressed up in her little dress and sparkling pink shoes for a special church service. This is before she ended up getting sick.
November 17, 2007
We went for a family photo and JC Penny and then went to visit Santa. MaKayla was not scared a bit and sat on Santa’s lap. She was not quite sure what was going on and was completely out of smiles from all the other pictures previously. Who can blame her?
Nikki your day has final come and I couldn’t be happier for you! My friend Nikki is finally getting MARRIED!!! Her long wait is almost to an end! We had her bridal shower on November 17th and it was beautiful!

Happy Holloween!

October 31, 2007
MaKayla’s second Halloween! It is so hard to believe that we are celebrating a second year of holidays already. This year she was a little tulip that my sister Laura sent her for her birthday. She is the cutest little tulip I have ever seen! Okay, so maybe I am biased! A friend as me today if we are going to let her out of the garden next year. Last year she was a pea pod and this year a tulip. I had to laugh because I didn’t even think of that. Hmm, I wonder if we can keep with the tradition for a third year. You will have to just wait and see.
I took MaKayla to my work today so she could see everyone and show off her costume. She is becoming so independent. She just walked through the building and into people’s offices like it was no big deal. I had to keep up with her. She was so cute!
Andy came home from work early so we could go Trick-or-Treating as a family. We just went to about 6 houses and then came home and passed out candy to kids. She had a good time and started to get the hang of holding her little bucket out. How precious! Here she is all ready to go Trick-or-Treating.
What a cute little tulip!
Daddy taking MaKayla up to our friend’s house to go Trick-or-Treating.
Mommy and baby Tulip!

MaKayla with Daddy’s spooky pumpkin.
Andy and I put treats in MaKayla’s pumpkin that she could eat like animal crackers and little granola bars. I opened one of the little granola bars and gave her a bite and she ran off with it. If you tried to go near her she would run off in the other direction. She screamed when I tried to help her pull the wrapper down. The granola bar did have little chocolate chips and I think that is what she liked so much and wanted to make sure we didn't take it from her. She must get her passion for chocolate from her Momma.
Here are our three pumpkins all lit up.
Grandma Sue stopped by during her evening break from work. She was dressed up as Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz.
Grandma gave MaKayla this cute little Princess hat and a shirt and sweater. Becky gave her the cute little Halloween cat shirt that she is wearing. She sure is spoiled! MaKayla did try and sneak some candy but some mean Mommy took it all away.

Andy has been talking about wanting to take some pictures of his car with the fall colors since we have met. We finally took the opportunity last weekend and went out to Rock Cut State Park. It was a beautiful day but we couldn’t find many colorful trees to take pictures next to. We still found some pretty spots though. Andy has worked so hard on this car and I am happy that we were finally able to get some decent pictures for him. Now, he is in the middle of taking out the transmission. So much for the car being done. I don’t think it will ever totally be done =).

Pumpkin Picking

October 20th
MaKayla had her one-year check up at the doctors. Poor thing had to get four shots. She is perfectly healthy. She is in the 20th percentile. Great things come in small packages. Afterwards, we went to Edward’s Apple Orchard to pick out our pumpkins. MaKayla had a good time and picked out her pumpkin right away. We put three little pumpkins in front of her and let her choose which one she wanted. Of course we had to get some yummy donuts and apple cider. MaKayla really enjoyed helping me eat my donut and loved the apple cider. It was a great time!
Later that day the shots had set in and she didn’t feel that well so we just lounged the rest of the day. One little cutie bug!
This is the pumpkin that MaKayla picked out.
Two cuties!
October 21st
MaKayla loves to sit in her Princess chair and watch cartoons. She has become quite cleaver and has learned that if she climbs up in the chair she can then climb up on the couch. Little stinker!
Poor baby still wasn’t feeling the best but we decided to carve our pumpkins. Daddy cut off the top so that MaKayla could clean hers out but she thought it tasted too good to throw away.
She got one good hand full with Daddy’s help then we had to take it away and finish it for her because she kept eating it. Yummy!
MaKayla’s little pumpkin turned out cute! Good job Daddy!
MaKayla will all three of our pumpkins.

Daddy Bonding Time

October, 15th
I got home around 1:30pm then rushed over to pick up my baby girl. I missed her so much!
Daddy found a way to keep her mind off of not feeling well. Hmm, what else do they do while I am not around.

October 13-14th, MaKayla was sick while I was gone and wanted Daddy to hold her all the time. He enjoyed all the snuggle time. You have to take advantage of it when you can get it now because it doesn’t happen as often as it used to.
Poor little thing feel asleep during dinner.
October 10th, Daddy and MaKayla were playing peek-a-boo but she decided it was more fun to walk around the house with the blanket on her head.
October 6th, I had to leave for a business trip for 10 days. It was so hard to leave my baby for so long. It was torture. Daddy and her had a good time bonding while I was away. He took her frog hunting in the front yard and they did happen to find a baby frog, which from what I have been told MaKayla loved.
Hmm, I wonder if she kisses the frog if it will turn into a Prince? On second thought, forget my first thought!
September 29th
It was MaKayla’s first day in the walkers’ room at church and she got bite twice by another little girl. At first the room attendant told me that she was bite on the finger but that was no mark and that MaKayla was fine. I could tell she had been crying because her face was all red. I looked at her finger and didn’t see anything so we just headed home. When we got home we pulled up her sleeve and saw these two bite marks. My poor baby! I called the church later to let them know that the bite was worse then they originally thought. They had a talk with the other girls Mom and she will be watch more carefully in the future.
September 28th
I just love this picture! If you look hard enough, you can see all three of us. Kind of spooky in a way.

1 Year Old Pictures

MaKayla’s one-year pictures were a bit more challenging to capture than in the past. She is on the move and doesn’t want to stand still and you might as well forget her sitting. That is a very occasion. Andy and I both got a workout with trying to keep MaKayla on this red dot on the floor for pictures. We spent most of the time chasing her. I was surprised at how well the pictures turned out. The JcPenny’s photographer was so good and just took pictures as MaKayla walked towards her. Here are some of my favorite shots. There are many more but I didn’t want to overload you. Sweet & Innocent
I just love this picture! The little tutu is just darling on her. She is our little Princess!
How precious!
The flower petals caught her interest for about one minute.
Grandma Sue made this Precious Moments quilt for MaKayla and gave it to her on her first birthday. I am sure she will treasure this quilt always. And of course we had to get a picture of her with "bear".
Daddy bought her this Harley Davidson outfit for her birthday. Andy put it on her and said that the pants fit just right and she wouldn’t be able to wear them for long. I had to laugh because they are capri pants and should be much shorter on her.

What a cutie pie!
