Crawling...off to the races!

MaKayla is crawling all over like a champ now! Just two weeks ago she crawled for the first time and was very unsure of herself and would move each limb carefully and have to steady herself. Now, she is off for the races! She likes to chase after Ike our English BullDog and play with his toes. Ike is really good about it and just gets up and finds another place to lay for a couple seconds of peace before she gets to him again. Poor Ike, MaKayla is finally paying back for all those times he has licked her. Now, if I could only get her to leave Ike’s bones alone. She is keeping me on my toes with taking them away from her.

Andy put up a baby gate at the top of our stairs yesterday. She was so cute; she crawled over to the gate to see what Daddy was doing. They were touching noses through the gate it was so cute! We had to make the gate a little higher off the ground so our cat could squeeze through to get to the basement and his litter box. I wish you could have seen us yesterday as we were measuring for the height of the gate. I kept pushing our cat under the gate to see how low we could make it but have it high enough for Chewie to make it under it. It is so funny to see him get his fat butt under the gate.
While MaKayla was playing with Daddy she decided to pull herself by the gate and stand. She even let go with one hand. Later she was playing with Daddy on the floor and let go with both hands for a split second and stood all by herself! She is getting so big!
Daddy took this picture of Ike. He is loves to have his picture taken!
I helped MaKayla put some quarters in her piggy bank. She didn’t understand why I wouldn’t let her have them to put in her mouth.
MaKayla and Daddy playing together right before he had to leave for the week. It is so hard on all of us having him gone. I hate saying "goodbye".

MaKayla’s 6th tooth popped through on Thursday, June 21st and the 7th one is ready to come through any day. Those little two front teeth have really been painful for her. I can’t wait until the other one pops through. Hopefully she will have a little break for awhile.

Clap, Clap, Clap

Sunday, June 24th, I asked Andy to take some pictures of MaKayla and I playing together outside. I don’t get very many pictures of the two of us because I am usually the picture taker. It was nice to get a couple of pictures that actually turned out. It only took about 30 tries. MaKayla did not feel like smiling for the camera.
Okay, so it is not really a smile but I will take it!
Wouldn’t you know it that the first picture that I took of MaKayla and Andy turned out perfect! No fair!!!
Daddy thought MaKayla how to clap her hands. She picked up on it so fast!
Such a big girl!

Other pics on Father's Day

MaKayla loves animals, which makes us both happy! Here she is trying to pet Chewie. She gets annoyed when they move out of her reach.
Sunday, June 10th, learned to actually crawl with both her arms and legs. Now she is off! She loves to crawl to Ike and play with his toes. He only puts up with it for a couple seconds and then gets up and moves. It only takes her a minute or two to reach him again. Paybacks for all those times he has licked her!
Andy was getting ready to leave on Sunday when I was folding MaKayla’s cloths in her room while she was suppose to be laying down napping. Well, she decided to pull herself up and stand. Good thing Daddy had not left yet. We had to lower her crib mattress so she wouldn’t fall out. She is growing so fast!
Here is another picture of MaKayla with Ike. Poor Ike is getting sick of her chasing him.

Father's Day!!!

Sunday, June 17th, Father’s Day! MaKayla woke Daddy up and gave him a card. She even put her own personal touch on it, teeth marks and baby slobber. Andy is such a good Husband and Dad! He is a great man of God and we are blessed to have him! Thank you sweetie for all that you do and for guiding our family in the light of God!
She also gave him a picture frame that says, "Daddy’s Girl" with a picture of the two of them.
MaKayla and I both gave him a AM radio for his 1970 Dodge Challenger. We finally were able to find a date coded radio. That was a task!! He was very happy and it made it all worth while.

Andy had to leave in the afternoon, we both cried. His first Father’s Day that we were really able to celebrate and he had to leave for work. I went from a house full of people to just MaKayla and I. It was a very sad afternoon! I really miss my husband when he is gone during the week.

Saying Goodbye is Hard!

Sunday, June 17th, We got to bed around midnight and got up at 3:30am to help get Roxy, Stephen, Logan and Zach off for the airport. It was so sad to see them leave. I am not sure when we will get to see them again so it made their departure very difficult. We loved having them stay with us and were just getting used to the air mattress in the living room, catching lighting bugs at night, the late night peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, the revolving front door and the endless chatter. It was such a joy to spend some quality time with my SeeeeSTER (she know what this means) and her family. We both shed quite a few tears. Thanks for coming, you are welcome at our house anytime! Come back soon!!!!!!

Andy held Logan while he finally slept so that we could say our goodbyes.
Zachary at 4:00am. Poor little guy didn’t get much sleep. She stayed with Andy, MaKayla and I at the wedding late because he didn’t want to leave. He did really well with getting up early though.

Laura & Joe’s Wedding Day!

My Sister Laura met her soul mate and sealed the deal on Saturday, June 16th. It was a spectacular wedding at the Paddle Wheel Inn in Oregon, IL. It was a hot sunny day with temperatures in the 90’s. It was a perfect day for a wedding! Laura was an absolutely gorgeous bride and Joe was a very handsome groom. They are a perfect couple and balance each other quite nicely. I am so happy for the two of them. Joe, you are a very sweet and gentle man and I am proud to have you a my brother-in-law. Welcome to the family!!!
"You may now kiss the bride!"
"It is my pleasure to announce Mr. & Mrs. Joseph Wilmarth Tyna"
The happy couple – CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!
One sleep girl on her Daddy! She was such a trooper! We stayed at the reception until 10:45 and she never got cranky. She fell asleep as soon as we put her in her car seat.

Magic Waters

Friday, June 15th, Roxy, Stephen, Zachary, Logan, Andy, MaKayla and I all went to Magic Waters before the rehearsal dinner. It was MaKayla’s and Logan’s first real swimming experience. MaKayla did have the one minute pool time at the hotel in Chicago but she was too cold to enjoy it. We had a really nice time together. Logan looks so cute sitting on the turtle.

Pearly Whites

June 5th, MaKayla has three teeth now and three more that are budding and are working their way through. I thought with her new pearly whites that she could try some more solid type foods. I gave her Banana Gerber Puffs. They melt in your mouth. She loved them! It was so cute watching her trying to pick them up and put them in her mouth. They would stick to her fingers. Most of them didn’t make it in her mouth but she sure did try. Ike loved them too. He sits under her high chair waiting for droppings.
June 5th, Daddy holding MaKayla after her bath. I just love this picture of the two of them.
June 6th, MaKayla was trying to grab her Winnie the Pooh friends on her mobile above her in the crib.
June 6th, Mommy kissing MaKayla and making her laugh.

The long awaited deck

May 25th, Andy started on our deck that we have been talking about for a few years now. On May 27th, all 16 of the holes had been dug, cement poured and he began to work on the headers. He battled with the rain most of Memorial weekend.
May 28th, most of the headers were in. If it weren’t for the rain, it would be further along.
June 2nd, all the supports and beams are in. I helped out when MaKayla was napping and after she went to bed at night. I enjoyed helping Andy and having him teach me a little of the trade. Most of the deck boards were screwed into place as well. I need to get a picture. Andy is building a roof over the octagon shaped portion to protect his fair skinned girls.

Getting SO BIG!

May 27th, it was a beautiful sunny day outside. MaKayla and I played in the grass outside in the shade of course! She liked playing with the blades of grass. She even flipped onto her tummy and tried to eat it.
Memorial Day, Grandma Baker and Great Grandma Johnson stopped in for a visit.
June 3rd, Daddy put together MaKayla’s toy that Aunt Vickie and Uncle Nick bought her for Christmas. She is just a big girl standing by herself while holding onto her toy. She LOVES IT!!!!! Thank you Aunt Vickie & Uncle Nick.
June 3rd, I put MaKayla in her crib to play while I folded her laundry. Everything was quiet so I looked over to see what she was doing and I found her trying to pull herself up to look at what I was doing. I guess we need to lower her mattress.
June 3rd, I was able to distract her attention with her mirror. She loves to look at herself and talk. What a little diva!

8 Months Old!

MaKayla turned 8 months old. She is such a big girl now! It won’t be long until she is bigger than her Pooh.

May 27th, MaKayla had been teething so I gave her a frozen peach in her mesh toy to bite on. She made funny faces but she kept biting on it.
