Summer bug
Andy mustered up some energy to play with MaKayla while he was home. She had a blast being on top of Daddy’s shoulders.
Daddy taught MaKayla her first lesson on muscle cars. It was so cute watching him teach her about driving a stick shift. If he has his way she will be a gear head.
MaKayla seemed to really enjoy learning about the car and was even helping Daddy make a few adjustments.
Well the 1970 Challenger finally was on the road for the first time in two years…YEAH!! I was a little nervous when he was out that something would happen or it would break down. I was so happy to see a big smile on Andy’s face when he pulled back in the driveway. Of course there are always some minor problems that need fixing. I doubt that the car will ever be totally done. There is always something that can use some tweaking.
Andy is hoping to take the car to a cruise night before the season ends this year.
MaKayla loved being throw in the air. Andy had her laughing so hard! Daddy decided MaKayla was big enough for her wagon. She loved it!!! The little stinker kept standing up in the wagon as Andy pulled it so I had to walk next to her and keep sitting her back down. MaKayla woke up on Sunday night crying. I would get her calmed back down and try to lay her back in her crib and she would start screaming again. After the third attempt, I decided to let her sleep with me. She is such a wiggle worm. I kept waking up with a foot in my face, a hand on my face, feet in my tummy or with her whining looking for her bear. Needless to say, I did not get a good night sleep. Here she is the next day feeling a little better but still congested. She took some toys out of her basket and then crawled in.
11 Months Old!
I had to post this picture as well without her pulling on poor Pooh’s nose.

Look A Like
I took advantage of a couple of minutes of playtime on my lap. Now that she if mobile this is becoming more infrequent. Note: bear is in hand!
Daddy wanted a picture of their faces next to each other to show me the similarities. Like I can’t seem them =). Note once again: bear is in hand.
Panera Bread Night
August 12th, MaKayla was being as quite as a little mouse so I thought I better investigate as she what she was doing. I found my not so innocent little girl pulling the toilet paper off the roll and ripping it. Hmm, she must have learned that from Daddy. August 13th, MaKayla and I met Holly and Karen for dinner at Panera bread. They haven’t seen her in quite awhile. Of course she showed them all of her new things she has learned including sticking out her tongue. There were lots of Cherrios on the floor by the time we left.
Before I had MaKayla, Holly, Karen and I would meet quite frequently at Panera or other restaurant. Now she is big enough to join in on the fun so I will have to start getting out again more often.
Little Miss MaKayla and Hello Kitty Holly Karen and MaKayla were making funny faces together. If you ever meet Karen ask her to say water or drawer. I just love, love, love her accent.

Luke, Caden and Aunt Jen playing with MaKaya before bed time
Aunt Laura and MaKayla were sticking their tongues out at each other but I had a hard time capturing it in a photo.

"SO BIG"
August 5th, MaKayla is getting "SO BIG"!! Just ask her and she will show you how BIG she is! It is so cute to watch her grow and learn new things. Her 8th tooth popped through on this day. She now has 4 on top and 4 on the bottom. Don’t stick your fingers near her mouth or she will show you how strong her chompers really are!
August 5th, What a little water baby she is. She loves it when you hold her hands and let her splash and play in her little pool. The only problem is that it kills our backs to be bent over while holding onto her. So Daddy decided to get in the pool with MaKayla. I think half of the water ended up on the deck but the two of them had fun together.
August 5th, the deck has been done for awhile now and we are loving it. We have already entertained several times on it and it is AWESOME!!! Andy did another wonderful job. I am very lucky to have such a great craftsman as a husband! Oh yeah, look at how pretty the green grass is. That is because I didn’t cut it for the two weeks that Andy was away traveling for work. Yeah, that was the reason I didn’t cut the grass. I just wanted it to be so nice and green =). This is right after Andy just cut the grass for the second time.
August 4th, MaKayla and I were lying on the bed snuggling. Daddy took this cute picture of the two of us together.
July 30th, I was in the kitchen doing the dishes when I didn’t hear MaKayla so I thought I better investigate. I thought maybe she was eating dirt out of one of the plants again but to my pleasant surprise she was in her room reading a book. How cute!
"Bear" & Congrats!
Saturday, July 29th, MaKayla and I went to Dixon to of course see Nikki’s ring and celebrate her engagement. It was such a treat to visit my home church, Pastor Don, Pasty and church members. We went out to lunch together and catch up on lost time. The waitress at the White House gave MaKayla a red balloon, which she played with all the way home. MaKayla and Pastor Don
July 28th, MaKayla and I went for a walk with "bear". I have been trying to change her bedtime from 7:00 to 8:00 so that I can spend some more time with her in the evenings. Try as I might, she still found a way to bet me and catch a little catnap. Actually, she is doing much better. It is so nice to have a little extra time with my sweet girl at night.
This is MaKayla after our walk with "bear" in hand. Okay, I have to tell you the story of "bear". She has had him in her crib with her since she was just a little thing. She loves to hold onto "bear" and then such on her thumb when she is sleeping. One day I was straightening up her crib and I moved "bear" (he jingles when moved) and she got all excited and came crawling towards me as fast as she could. I realized it was bear that she wanted and I gave him to her. She hasn’t put "bear" down much since then. I knew she was attached to "bear" for sleeping but didn’t realize he had become such an important little item. So, I went to Wal-Mart where "bear" came from to find a second just in case of the chance of losing him. Well, wouldn’t you know they no longer carry him. He has been replaced by a pink bunny blanket. It is not even the same fabric. I let her play with bunny and she liked him but still preferred "bear". I sure hope we don’t lose "bear".
Saturday, July 21st, Aunt Katie came for a visit. We had a cookout with Uncle Nick, Aunt Vickie, Aunt Katie and Patrick. We had a nice time! MaKayla and Aunt Katie were able to spend some good quality time together bonding. I think MaKayla may have even picked up a couple of Spanish words.
