5 Months Old!

MaKayla turned five months old on February 20th. It is so hard to believe, where has the time gone? She gave us a little surprise that evening by grabbing and holding onto her toes. This is the first time that she has grabbed her feet and now she won’t let go. It makes diaper changes more interesting and challenging. At least I don’t have to worry about poop being smeared on her clothes because she holds up her own feet for me =).

Here is her monthly picture next to her Pooh Bear.

What a Big Girl!

Last week, MaKayla tried out her Excersaucer for the first time and loved it! We love it too because it keeps her occupied for about 20-30 minutes while we can get stuff done. Her little toes just touches the bottom and she thinks she is such a big girl now.

We also tried out her new Bumbo seat. She will only sit in it for a few minutes and then gets bored. I need to find a way that she can play with toys that can’t be dropped while sitting in it. I think this will be nice for when we start cereal next month. She can squirm out of it =)

Here is a picture of Daddy and MaKayla. Everyone tells me that she looks
just like Andy. Yes, I do see a resemblance but I also she myself in her too

4-1/2 Month Check Up

MaKayla had her 4-½ month check up on February 3rd. Once again she received a total of four shots in her two legs. It is so hard to watch her being held down and screaming. Daddy picked her up as soon as the last shot was administered and started consoling her. This time around, I gave her Tylenol before we left the house but I don’t think it helped too much. MaKayla was miserable for two days and wanted to be held constantly. Of course, we comforted her the entire weekend. By Monday, she was feeling better. Her is a cute picture of MaKayla showing off her battle wounds. I love her little rollie pollie legs.

Stats: Weight 13 pounds 12 ounces putting her at the 50 percentile for her age
Length: I need to double check but I think it was 23-3/4 inches putting her at the 25-50 percentile for her age.

The Dedication!

MaKayla’s Dedication was wonderful! It was so nice to be able to get all the grandparents together with the exception of Great Grandpa Johnson and Grandma Elaine. It was also nice to everyone visit our church. MaKayla did exceptionally well. Grandma Sue knitted a beautiful blanket and her friend knitted a matching dedication dress with bonnet and booties. MaKayla looked adorable! When the camera zoomed in on her while we were up on stage see puked on cue. Even that was cute!

MaKayla was spoiled with all kinds of gifts! She is already becoming a very spoiled and well loved little girl! Thank you all for coming and celebrating this very special day with us. It meant so much to have you there! For those of you who could not be there we know you were in spirit. We love you all!
