Happy Resurrection Day!

April 23, 2011 - The night before Easter the kids put out carrots for the Easter Bunny. They decided to taste test them to be sure they were okay.
April 24, 2011 - Happy Resurrection Day! aka Happy Easter!
The Easter Bunny made his visit. He ate his carrots and left jelly beans on the plate. He also left behind filled Easter baskets.

The kids were allowed to look but not touch. Easter is first and foremost about Jesus. We honor him on this morning before anything else. After all, there wouldn't be an Easter if it were not for Jesus dying on the cross for our sins and rising from the dead three days later!

MaKayla had to sneak a peak before getting ready for church.

The kids had to check out the plate of carrots.

Before church we took some pictures.

After church, the kids hunted for their eggs outside.

MaKayla was a little faster than her brother so we had to have her wait so he could find a few before she would take them all.

MaKayla wore her rain boots because it was a little bit muddy.

Found another one!

The naughty squirrels took about 13 of the plastic candy filled eggs for themselves. They didn't touch the hard boiled eggs. I guess we will have to dye more eggs next year.

Noah did really well this year finding eggs.

On the move!

MaKayla loved the egg she found. It must be pink or purple =)

Striking a pose!

Another purple egg!

Finally time to open the Easter baskets.

Little Pet Shop!

Grandma & Grandpa Morris sent the kids Easter baskets.

MaKayla loves the bunny that Grandma & Grandpa gave her.

Noah loves his cars!

One of our Easter traditions is to make resurrection rolls. I didn't take a picture of the one we made this year. MaKayla made them this year and repeated the story for each roll. It really helped her to understand the story of Easter.
