A Mind of Her Own!
April 20, 2008
Grandma Morris brought over this Little Tikes car for MaKayla. She bought it from a friend for only $2, what a steal! Too bad MaKayla was taking a nap when Grandma brought if by. As soon as she got up from her nap we took her outside to play with her new car and she loved it. She loves opening the doors and climbing in and out over and over again. The car phone was also a big hit.
Climbing in her new car!
MaKayla found a new way to ride on her Barbie 4 wheeler. I am not quite so fond of this new way of riding backwards but Daddy thought it was cute.

MaKayla was dead set on wearing her winter hats and mittens outside to play on a beautiful 70 degree day! She is a very determined and strong willed child. It was impossible to try and explain to her that she didn’t need them. I tried to get her to wear a spring hat instead of the winter one but she ended up wearing them both. I am sure the neighbors think we are nuts! At least we were able to get her to wear the spring coat instead of the winter coat. After about an hour of sweating we decided enough was enough and took away her hat and mittens, she did throw a fit but decided that the spring hat would work. I have now washed all the winter clothing and am hiding it from her sight. It is funny because she thinks she needs a hat and coat whenever she goes outside. Even now she always wants her spring jacket and hat.
Here she is winter hat and mittens free finally! We found a fresh bird nest up in the overhang of our deck. We decided since there were no eggs in it that it was best to take it down. We didn’t want to battle bird droppings all summer. MaKayla enjoyed investigating the nest. Andy did put it in a tree in the front of our house but I am sure that a bird will not use it now that it has been touched by human hands.

the double hats is toooo funny! what a cutie pie! =)
I love the winter coat story. What a precious memory! Lydia did the same thing when she went to Texas, but when she came home she didn't want to wear her coat even though she needed it! It's hard to help them understand... :)
Gee... I have no idea where she gets that "strong willed" streak. Why a mystery ;)
I love the little car. Watch out here she comes! It is fun to see her character develop. She is becoming quite the little girl. A strong and determined one!
She is going to make a great sister!
