Up North for the 4th!

July 1, 2011 - Our annual 4th of July trip Up North was another year of special memories to treasure. It didn't take long for MaKayla to find her way to the lake. She enjoyed swimming with the neighbor's dogs.

July 2, 2011 - Noah gets a ride from Nana.

MaKayla finds her own ride.

Everyone is having fun in the water.

Daddy and Noah enjoy some time together in the kayak.

Papa on his favorite boat.

Papa is swimming with the kids.

Relaxing on the dock.

Swim lessons have really paid off. Noah is swimming like a fish.

Go Noah! Both MaKayla and Noah took to swimming where they couldn't touch with the assistance of life jackets. We were impressed with how well they did. They swam back and forth from the floating dock to land all day long.

Dylan is not looking too happy!

Why is it that the oldest is rowing the boat? Hmm, I think the young buck's need to step it up!

A cute little fish!

A tired little fish!

This is the furthest you will ever see my sister Jen in the water. Actually I was impressed that she was in up to her calves!

Aunt Laura getting used to the chill of the water.

Julia and Nana are relaxing in the kayak together.

One fish, two fish, pink fish, blue fish

July 3, 2011 - It won't take long for MaKayla to eat her entire chocolate chip pancake from the Wolf Pack.

After pancakes, we had to stop to ride the horses. This is a highlight for MaKayla!

First it is feeding time.

Noah likes the horses too.

MaKayla is a natural with the ponies.
Isn't he cute in his cowboy boots?

MaKayla is saddled up and ready to ride! She is styling in her pink cowgirl boots and hat!
Noah is ready to get the show on the road!
Noah was super excited when he saw the go-karts! Daddy is strapping him in for his first ride!

It was love at first ride!!!

MaKayla rode with Daddy for the first time too! She enjoyed it but not as much as horse riding.

I took MaKayla on another horse ride while Daddy and Noah went back to the go-karts.
Papa, Nana & Noah sitting around the camp fire.
My sister Laura has struggled with getting her daughter Julia to let her do her hair. I decided to give it a try and was able to get pig tails in her for the first time. I told her that she looked like Princess Baby (her favorite book) and it worked like a charm. Doesn't she look adorable?
