Our Lil' Princess MaKayla Turned One!

Here ye, Here ye
Our Lil’ Princess MaKayla Turned One

MaKayla's big PRINCESS BIRTHDAY Party was on Saturday, September 22nd. I just had to dress MaKayla up as a Little Princess to match her Princess Theme birthday party. I found this cute little tutu when I was in Las Vegas and just couldn’t pass it up. Isn’t she just adorable?
Papa and Nana gave her this Dora the Explorer push tike. It was too big to wrap so as soon as they brought it in and set it on the floor she started pushing buttons. Papa and Nana took it out of the box right away so she could play with it.
One big happy family!
She sure is the cutest lil’ princess I have ever seen!
MaKayla was spoiled with lots of love and presents!

Grandma Sue has been working hard throughout the year making this very special Precious Moments Quilt. It turned out just beautiful! MaKayla will come to appreciate all the hard work that went into making this quilt with love.
The Little Princess all decked out and waiting for her cake to be served to her.
Another family photo, sorry I just couldn’t resist.
Yummy, yummy, yummy! I have my Momma’s sweet tooth!
Sweet kisses for Daddy! Actually she ended up biting his lip and not letting go for awhile. "That’s what you get for trying to steal some of my cake Daddy."
The birthday girl crashed out after a day full of activities. Andy and I went to check in on her and noticed that her quilt that Grandma Sue made for her birthday was in the crib. Hmm, I think that a certain Grandma fairy sneaked in the room. MaKayla will definitely treasure this very special quilt for years to come.
Sunday, September 23rd, we had to take a test drive outside and enjoy the Indian summer that is here. Grandma Baker gave her this Winnie the Pooh little tike. The propeller even goes around, too cute!
Here is the Dora the Explorer little tike that Papa and Nana Masterson gave her. She decided to get off and push it for awhile. It is easier pushing it down the driveway. Coming back up is a bit more of a challenge.
Monday, September 24th, Tati had a little birthday celebration at her house for MaKayla. The house was decked out with streamers, balloons and a sign on the door. The kids baked the cake in the morning. The plans were to decorate the cake when the rest of the kids arrived in the afternoon and enjoy the fruits of their labor. When I went for a visit at lunch I asked if I could take a picture since I wouldn’t be there in the afternoon. So, we got the cake out and I started snapping away and my Lil’ Princess decided that the cake looked too yummy to just be sitting there and decided to help herself. The little stinker kept eating it while I took pictures. Opps, so there will be some cake missing when the kids decorate it. Hmm, I wonder where MaKayla gets that from? Tati is such a great daycare provider and has become like a member of our family. God has blessed us with her, Joseph, Sarah and Sean and we are so happy that they are a apart of MaKayla’s life. They did come to our family celebration at our house on Saturday and our families couldn’t say enough good things about Tati and her family after they left. Thank you Tati, Joseph, Sarah and Sean for all that you do!
Okay, I think we have had enough cake for one week! =)

Happy 1st Birthday Sweetheart!

HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY MAKAYLA!!!

It just doesn’t seem possible that it has been a year since we were blessed by the most precious bundle of joy. God has been so good to us throughout this year first with "Our Gift from God" and a very happy and healthy year. It has been so much watching MaKayla learn and grow. Andy and I both took Thursday and Friday off of work to enjoy some very much-needed time together.
Andy gave MaKayla this little Harley Davidson outfit. He must have dressed her up to see how it looked because I found this picture on the camera.
We started out the day with opening a couple of gifts. Andy gave MaKayla her first pearl and will continue to add pearls to her necklace each year until she has a full string. I think it is a very sweet gift that she will come to treasure.
We wanted to go to an animal wildlife park but found out it was closed during the week so we went to Petland. It is the perfect place to go for little ones with short attention spans. MaKayla was able to pet a bunny, kitty, and puppy. She was also able to see all kinds of birds, reptiles and fish. She had a wonderful time.
Next, we went to the park by the Speedway. I was impressed with the cleaniness of the park and that they had things for small children. What a big girl! She loved to swing with us holding onto her much better than swinging in the baby swing.
Here is Daddy stealing a kiss in mid swing.
Daddy and MaKayla going down the big slide.
MaKayla loved to make music with these metal balls and pipes.
We had fun playing in the sand together. She liked it when I let the sand pour from my hand. She did try and eat the sand a couple of times but I don’t think she liked the taste of it.
I gave MaKayla this rocking horse. When you push on the ears it sings and the mouth moves which really intrigued MaKayla. She loves to ride on it, she kicks her little legs if you stop.
Happy Birthday to You! Happy Birthday to You! Happy Birthday Dear MaKayla! Happy Birthday to You!!
Mmm, good cake!! So this is what sugar taste like! One taste of the icing and MaKayla devoured the whole cup cake. She LOVED IT!

First time away from MaKayla

I had to leave for a business trip to Las Vegas September 6-9. It was my first time being away from MaKayla and it was awful. I called home constantly to check in with Andy and to see if MaKayla was doing okay. She did much more than okay, Daddy and her had a blast together. It was good for the two of them to have some Father-Daughter bonding time. I am sure he let her do things that I wouldn’t dream of while I was away. What I don’t know sometimes doesn’t hurt me!
Here is a picture that Andy took of the two of them.
Mmm, berries are so good! What a mess!

Labor Day Weekend

September 1, 2007
It was a beautiful day so we decided to take advantage of it and go to Edward’s Apple Orchard. MaKayla got to see all kinds of cute little animals and go for first horse ride. She had a good time. Mommy got tired of walking around in a circle for what seems forever! Of course we had to indulge in their yummy apple cider donuts and other goodies. It was a very nice family bonding time. The cutest little turkey I have ever seen!
MaKayla loves animals, which makes me so happy. Hmm, maybe Mommy can finally have her horse if MaKayla falls for them. Just a thought!
