NRA Show

MaKayla and I left for NRA on May 15. Tati’s daughter Sarah came with us to Nanny during the trip at the Hyatt McCormick Place in Chicago. There is no way that I could leave my little girl for 10 days. Andy came in over the week and Sarah went home. On Sunday afternoon Andy had to go back to work and Sarah came back to the hotel to watch MaKayla. Here is a picture of MaKayla after her and Sarah got back from a walk on Lake Shore Drive.
Sarah is always loving on MaKayla. I don’t know who spoils her more Tati or Sarah.
MaKayla and Daddy tried to go for a swim in the pool at the hotel but the water was just too cold. MaKayla turned purple and starting shivering after about two minutes. Sorry, not enough time to get a picture in the water. Here is a picture of me warming her up. Later she took a warm shower with Daddy and felt a lot better.

Earlier in the day Daddy and MaKayla walked along Lake Shore Drive. They found a little part where they feed some baby ducks and their Mommy. Andy took a cute video of their day of adventure. There were four short videos of a Ferrari and MaKayla. Well MaKayla was in the background, the video was mostly of the car.

Mother's Day

MaKayla has not really taken to solids so we thought we would try banana in a mesh bag. He loves to bite on things so we thought this might be the perfect solution. Just as we thought, she started chomping away. She would make a strange face when the banana would squish in her mouth but she would go back to biting it again. It is so much fun to watch her discover new things.
My first official Mother’s Day was very special. Daddy brought MaKayla to our bed with a balloon for me. Then Andy made me waffles with a beautiful bouquet of flowers on the table. I received a very small camcorder to start recording videos of MaKayla while she is mall that we can look back on later in life. I am sure she will appreciate the video when she gets older. I was spoiled! The best gift of all is just being a Mommy and have a beautiful little girl that I get to wake up to every morning. God is so good!
Andy had to start traveling three weeks ago. He leaves the house on Sunday afternoons and doesn’t get home until late Thursday night/early Friday morning. It is so hard to see his leave on Sunday’s. I know it is especially hard on him. We miss him very much and we treasure our time together on the weekends. Please pray for Andy’s safety as he travels for his job. It requires many long hours on the road late at night.
