Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween! It sure was cold this year! What a difference a year makes. Last year on Halloween it was so nice we walked around in short sleeves. This year you couldn't put enough layers on to stay warm. I prefer the warmer Halloweens myself =) October 31, 2009 - Our church had a trunk-or-treat with over 40 cars decorated in different themes. The cold didn't hold the kids back. They had a blast! There was also bounce houses, cotton candy, face paintings and lots more. Noah was serious about picking out his candy.
Have you ever seen a cuter crocodile?
It is hard to tell but MaKayla is wearing her Tinker Bell costume that she wore for her dance recital. It was so cold we had no choice but to make her wear a coat over it. Not to mention the two pairs of pants.
MaKayla & Noah getting lots of candy
I thought this was cute of Noah from behind.
After going home to warm up and fill our bellies with some real food, we were off trick-or-treating in our neighborhood. Our neighbors faced the frigid cold with us.
Here is MaKayla, Noah & Emma
MaKayla and Daddy continued on, the rest of us returned home. What can I say they are die hards!

Pumpkin Carving & Sweet Treats!

October 29, 2009 - Daddy Kangaroo is carrying Noah in his pouch.
Pumpkin carving time is a gooey mess!
Noah wasn't too sure of the stringy goo and seeds!
MaKayla picked out her picture and Daddy carved it for her.

October 30, 2009 - MaKayla wanted to make Halloween cupcakes. She helped by licking the beaters and spatula.
MaKayla is hard at work decorating the cupcakes. Anyone want some sugar?
Her master piece! After her hard work she delivered some to our neighbors.

MaKayla had a Halloween dance recital today. There wore there Halloween costumes and all the classes got together in a large room while each class did their dance. MaKayla was Tinker Bell and did amazingly well!

Planting Trees

October 20, 2009 - We had three large white spruce trees brought in to put along the fence on one side of our yard to give us more privacy from the white vinyl home that is by us. There are a couple of windows where you can see and hear there conversations when they are outside. This should help. We went out in a field of trees and had to make our way through waist high brush to find our perfect three. They were tagged and then we had to wait for the weather to cooperate for delivery. We finally had a window of time where the groud was not soggy for delivery. It was interesting to see the spade truck make its way through to our backyard. It is amazing how they make a huge hole and fill it without being able to see any gaps. Although, the truck did do a number to our yard when it drove in and out. Here is a picture of one of our trees being placed in the ground.
Two trees in one to go!
October 24, 2009 - I had to include this adorable picture of MaKayla.
October 25, 2009 - Noah wanted to wear his bear hat and mittens again. Here is another picture of my cute little cub.

Autumn Days!

October 12, 2009 - I am not sure why this picture uploaded upside down, sorry! Noah fell and cut open his eye. This is his first shinner and I am sure it won't be his last. He is a rough boy!
October 13, 2009 - We enjoyed a beautiful autumn day of picking leafs. MaKayla and I worked on a leaf book. We used crayons to make leaf impressions, pressed leafs and we made a leaf turkey (MaKayla calls it a chicken). It was a fun learning and craft project.
Noah helped pick some leafs but mostly he enjoyed just running around.
We are on our way to find more leafs.
October 14, 2009 - Daddy carrying Noah after his bath.
Daddy reading a bed time story. Noah keeps interrupting by running his truck over the book.
Noah in his car slippers. They didn't stay on for long.
October 17, 2009 - A little sisterly love!
Grandma Morris sent this cute bear hat and mitten set. I couldn't resist putting it on him.
What a cute little cub!

The Pumpkin Patch

October 10, 2009 - We bought Noah's big boy seat and turned him around. We drove to Illinois for our God Daughter's 1st birthday party so it was the perfect road trip to test out his new seat. He loved being turned around and being able to see everything!
Before the birthday party, we went to the pumpkin patch. We normally go the Edward's Apple Orchard, a favorite of ours, but being pressed for time we decided to go the Pumpkin Patch instead. It was our first visit and most likely our last. We really missed Edward's Apple Orchard! Not to mention that the Apple Orchard is VERY EXPENSIVE!! You literally have to pay for everything little thing. Watch your wallet! It is not that way at Edward's. It was very cold so we didn't stay too long but the kids did want to go for a pony ride.
MaKayla loves horses so this is always a highlight for her!
Noah went on his first pony ride with Daddy by his side.
What cute kittens!
MaKayla picked out her pumpkin right away.
Noah did a good job picking out his pumpkin as well.
MaKayla, Daddy & Noah
Noah kicked back and enjoyed his sucker.
This was the last attraction that we saw before we left.

A Dirty Job!

October 3, 2009 - Along with the shed Andy has been working on finishing the hot rod shop.
Mudding and sanding is not a task that Andy enjoys!
October 10, 2009 - The shed gets siding.
