Happy Halloween!
Happy Halloween! It sure was cold this year! What a difference a year makes. Last year on Halloween it was so nice we walked around in short sleeves. This year you couldn't put enough layers on to stay warm. I prefer the warmer Halloweens myself =) October 31, 2009 - Our church had a trunk-or-treat with over 40 cars decorated in different themes. The cold didn't hold the kids back. They had a blast! There was also bounce houses, cotton candy, face paintings and lots more. Noah was serious about picking out his candy.

Planting Trees
October 20, 2009 - We had three large white spruce trees brought in to put along the fence on one side of our yard to give us more privacy from the white vinyl home that is by us. There are a couple of windows where you can see and hear there conversations when they are outside. This should help. We went out in a field of trees and had to make our way through waist high brush to find our perfect three. They were tagged and then we had to wait for the weather to cooperate for delivery. We finally had a window of time where the groud was not soggy for delivery. It was interesting to see the spade truck make its way through to our backyard. It is amazing how they make a huge hole and fill it without being able to see any gaps. Although, the truck did do a number to our yard when it drove in and out. Here is a picture of one of our trees being placed in the ground.

Autumn Days!
October 12, 2009 - I am not sure why this picture uploaded upside down, sorry! Noah fell and cut open his eye. This is his first shinner and I am sure it won't be his last. He is a rough boy!
October 13, 2009 - We enjoyed a beautiful autumn day of picking leafs. MaKayla and I worked on a leaf book. We used crayons to make leaf impressions, pressed leafs and we made a leaf turkey (MaKayla calls it a chicken). It was a fun learning and craft project.

The Pumpkin Patch
October 10, 2009 - We bought Noah's big boy seat and turned him around. We drove to Illinois for our God Daughter's 1st birthday party so it was the perfect road trip to test out his new seat. He loved being turned around and being able to see everything!
Before the birthday party, we went to the pumpkin patch. We normally go the Edward's Apple Orchard, a favorite of ours, but being pressed for time we decided to go the Pumpkin Patch instead. It was our first visit and most likely our last. We really missed Edward's Apple Orchard! Not to mention that the Apple Orchard is VERY EXPENSIVE!! You literally have to pay for everything little thing. Watch your wallet! It is not that way at Edward's. It was very cold so we didn't stay too long but the kids did want to go for a pony ride.
MaKayla loves horses so this is always a highlight for her!
