Dance Recital - 2011

June 11, 2011 - The day has finally come! MaKayla was so excited! We took lots of pictures at the house before we left. Would you expect anything different? Daddy had to leave early because he has 3 dances in all 5 recitals.

She is showing us some of her moves. She is quite the performer!

Daddy Dance #1

Daddy in his first of three dances. He is on the far right sitting on someones back driving the bus. MaKayla asked Daddy to be in the Daddy dance again this year. Of course, he said yes to his princess! He was asked by the owner to dance in a guy girl dance as well. He ended up dancing in three dances and in all 5 recitals.

This dance was awesome! The owner got the idea from a performance from America's Got Talent. The guys did amazing! Andy was a ball for the second guy.

They finished learning this dance literally the night before the first recital.

Andy's Dance #3

The girl/guy dance that Andy was asked to dance in. The learned a lot during this dance and had to do a lot of lifts!

Andy's partner was sixth grader named Audrey. They worked well together and both did a great job!

The end of the 3 hour long recital! Andy scooped up MaKayla for her bow on stage.

I am so proud of both my dancers!

Everyone couldn't wait to see MaKayla after the recital.

MaKayla was spoiled with flowers and gifts.

We also got a figurine that we put the information on the recital on the bottom.

Grandma & Grandpa Morris, Aunt Katie & Aunt Vickie stayed the night to enjoy more time with the kids.

Noah is pushing Aunt Katie's buttons with his favorite word, "buttcrack".

They were all playing in the play house. It was too cute! MaKayla gave everyone dolls to hold while Noah went around pretending to put lotion on everyone.

It was quite funny watching the adults walking bent over to get out of the play house.

MaKayla and Noah slept in a frog tent up in our bedroom so that Aunt Katie and Aunt Vickie could sleep in their rooms. It took a long time for the kids to finally go to sleep!

Picture Day for Dance Class!

June 7, 2011 - Today was picture day for MaKayla's dance class. They also practiced their dance in front of other classes and parents to help them get ready for the big day.

I love their costumes as well as the song "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" that they are dancing to.

I couldn't get a very good picture. They shut the door so the parents don't distract the kids.

Bathroom Update #7

June 4, 2011 - Andy finished up the tile work today, yeah!!!

June 5, 2011 - Cleaning up the tile

Andy worked so hard the last couple of days tiling that he literally wore the skin off his finger tips. The picture doesn't show how bad it really is. There is grout stuck in the open sores.

I put antibiotic ointment and bandages on his fingers. He was really in a lot of pain!

Fun in the Sprinkler!

June 4, 2011 - Noah got this sprinkler for his birthday from Grandma & Grandpa Morris. Today was the perfect opportunity to finally use it.

The kids had a blast! It is really cool, you put balls in and they spiral down and then shoot out with the water.
Yes, I do know I have dandelions! I am going to take care of them!

Bug Cake Pops!

June 3, 2011 - This was a very busy weekend. I had a garage sale and two cake orders. One of which was cancelled because my brother's girlfriend ended up in the hospital the night before her baby shower. I got a call for a last minute order of 50 cake pops and an individual cake for a first birthday. These cake pops about killed me! In order to match her colors I used candy colors but it made the chocolate too think. The only way I could make them was to do so in a mold. Then I had to make a hole on the bottom and insert a stick. It took me 12 hours. It was definitely a learning experience to say the least! I don't want to see another cake pop for a long time!!!! I was so tired I forgot to take a photo of the green bugs before I put them in the box.

1st birthday cake - I am not happy with my writing. I need more practice!

I also made her two very large cake pops to use as decoration.

Bathroom Update #6

June 3, 2011 - The bathroom is coming along nicely. Andy took the week off of work to try and get most of it done. You can see the wires for the heated floor is installed and he is working on tiling the floor.

The granite counter tops are in!

Noah's 3 Year Old Pictures

We got the pictures on a disk today, yeah!

May 24, 2011 - We had Noah's 3 year old photos done at a park. It was only about 60 degrees with a little wind which made for some chilly pictures! The kids did great! I was cold! Noah was a little ham for the camera. I found a very affordable photogragher that gives you all the photos on a high res disk. I think she did a great job!
