Cake for Sale

April 15, 2011 - I gave one of my cakes from my cake class to a neighbor. We didn't need to eat all those sweets so we shared. My neighbor served the cake to some of her guests. Well that ended up in me being asked to make a cake for a first communion. This is my first cake I have been paid for. This was a large 1/2 sheet double stacked cake. It was so heavy that I had to put it on two cake boards and then use a cookie sheet under it to transport. Lesson learned, I will have Andy cut a piece of wood for me for the next time.

My Magma

April 4, 2011 - My sister came home because we had made the difficult decision that it was time for Grandma to be placed in a nursing home. Roxy curled Grandma's hair before we took her.

My twin brothers Michael and Markus with Grandma

April 5, 2011 - We all had breakfast together before going to visit Grandma. His girlfriend Nissa is pregnant with my niece and is due in July.

I took the kids for a visit with Grandma. There were a lot of tears shed the day before but Grandma is actually doing better than any of us imagined. Thank God for everyday miracles!

Happy Birthday Papa!

April 2, 2011 - MaKayla made Papa a birthday present
Noah helped me make Papa's birthday cake.

Daddy had to stay home so that he could turn off the water to the house while we were away.

The cake that I made for Papa

April 3, 2011 - The kids and I headed to Illinois for my Dad's birthday. Since I missed my niece Julia's birthday I gave her gift. I made her a tutu, wings, hat and flowers.

My sister Roxy came home for a visit and was able to be with us for our Dad's birthday. Here is Roxy and Nana.

Only my sister can backup and end up across the end of the driveway. I am not quite sure how she did it but it was quite funny watching her. It was even funnier watching her try and correct it and get out of the driveway.

Happy 36th Birthday Daddy!

April 1, 2011 - Happy Birthday Knee!
We surprised Daddy at work with a birthday treat!

Andy and I have always loved Cookies by Design cookies. When we moved to Wisconsin and they didn't have one I started experimenting to find a copy cat recipe.

The kids surprised Daddy with hand made cards and gifts.

Presents made from the heart are the best!

MaKayla has picked out an animal for Daddy's last three birthdays. He is really building a collection now!

Noah helped Daddy open is card and present.

Noah gave Daddy a little car that flips. Hmm, what were the motives behind that gift?

We took Daddy out to dinner to Texas Roadhouse or as MaKayla calls it, "Yeh, Haw".

Noah enjoyed putting peanut shells on his fingers.

After dinner we celebrated with cake. Do you recognize the cake? Andy was a little disappointed because he wanted an ice cream cake. I might have to give it a try sometime.

The kids decided Daddy needed some help with the candles.

Say Cheese!
