In Memory of Ike!
We thought of you with love today, but that is nothing new.
We thought about you yesterday, and days before that too.
We think of you in silence. We often speak your name.
Now all we have is memories, and your picture in a frame.
Your memory is our keepsake, with which we’ll never part.
God has you in his keeping.
We have you in our heart.
In Loving Memory of Ike

Forever Loved and Missed,
Dad & Mom
We made the hardest choice Andy and I have been faced with. We decided to end Ike's suffering. We had a wonderful vet come to the house. It was a very peaceful experience for Ike with Andy and I surrounding him in love as he passed and entered the kingdom of our Lord Jesus. It was the right thing to do but it doesn't make the decision any easier. He gave us great joy and we will miss him dearly!

Merry Christmas!
MaKayla woke up and ran up the stairs to tell us that Santa had come. Before the morning activities began we took time to talk about Jesus and sing "Happy Birthday".

Christmas Eve!
Let me back up a minute. In November, Ike had what we think was a stroke which left his left side of his face paralyzed. He could not even blink his eye on the left side. We have been putting drops in his eye every three hours to keep the eye from drying out and creating an ulcer. We knew that his health was deteriorating but he was not in any pain.
Back to the present. An x-ray showed that Ike was in congestive heart failure. The reason his stomach was so big is because of all the fluid. We were given a couple of different options. We chose to have the fluid drained to buy us some time. As soon as the fluid was drained he was back to his old self. We spoiled him with lots of treats and special meals of ground beef, rice and corn. He loved all the extra attention.
We were suppose to go back to Illinois for Christmas Eve with my Dad and Bonnie. Due to the circumstances we canceled and spent a quality time at home. Andy and I took turns going to the Christmas Eve service at church. We didn't want to leave Ike home alone. The diuretic he is on makes him have to go out about every 30 minutes. The picture above is from a couple of weeks ago.
