My 1st Sewing Machine Project!

February 26, 2010 - MaKayla saw a project that appeared on Nick Jr. by Moose and Zee. It was a project that told the kids to ask their parents for help. Well, I have never used a sewing machine before but thought this was a good time to give it a try. The project actually called for gluing the material together but I didn't think it would hold up so I opted for sewing.
Daddy had to show me how to thread a sewing machine. He learned by watching his Mom sew when he was a kid. It is amazing how much a kids learns when you don't even know they are watching you =)
Hard at work with my assistant! I had to redo Zee because I sewed her feet on the inside, opps! Live and learn!
MaKayla is stuffing her Zee pillow.
Yeah, it is complete! Next time I told MaKayla we will give Grandma Morris a call for assistance.
MaKayla was very proud of her accomplishment.
The completed Zee Pillow. Don't look at the imperfections =)

"Snow Girl"

February 20, 2010 - MaKayla and Daddy built a "Snow Girl" together. MaKayla didn't want a snowman. Grandma Morris gave MaKayla a snowman or snowgirl building kit for Christmas. We finally had a weekend day that we could put it to good use. I think she turned out beautifully! All Noah wanted to do outside is take a walk down the road. I had a hard time getting him to turn around and go back home.

MaKayla's 3 Year Pictures!

The pictures from Sears arrived today, YEAH!!!! There were so many good pictures it was impossible to choose which ones to buy! Of course, we had to get pictures of MaKayla dressed up as a Princess! She wouldn't have it any other way!

This is my favorite! It reminds me of a picture that my Grandpa has of me with a little brown outfit on at about the same age.

Of course I had to get some pictures of both of my babies together.
What a beautiful Princess and a handsome Prince!

My husband informed me that I combed his hair the wrong way. I did try going the other way but his colic was fighting me that day!

He looks so sweet and innocent here!
For those of you who know me, I don't like shopping at Sears. Actually, I detest it!!!!
We were going to go to JC Penny's like I usually do but I didn't realize that our store didn't have a portrait studio until we got there. The closest one was 45 minutes away and we were already pushed for time. So, I had two options. The Picture People who were $18 a sheet or Sears. I opted for Sears. It was much cheaper than the Picture People but still more expensive than JC Penny's. It took a lot for me to spend money there but overall we did have a good experience. The photographer did a great job with the kids and I was very happy with how the pictures turned out. She also worked with me and gave me a deal that was better than I could have gotten with a coupon.
Family: Don't worry, your pictures will be to you soon!

Happy Valentine's Day!

We have a Valentine's Fairy that flies around and drops off little goodies like balloons, candy hearts sprinkled on the kitchen table and a bag with a little fairy present inside for each kid. The kids get a kick out of the fairy dust fairytale.

Noah got a little car and MaKayla got a little Strawberry Shortcake.
It didn't take Noah long to figure out the candy was buy far the sweetest!
MaKayla enjoyed the balloons!
Andy was out of town and would be home in the late afternoon. The kids and I enjoyed a breakfast of heart shaped pancakes and pink strawberry milk! Yummy!
My kids sure do have sweet teeth. I wonder where they get that from? =)
The kids and I made large sugar cookies. Andy and I love Cookies by Design cookies. The only problem is they are so expensive. Last year, I searched online and found a recipe that is very similar to the cookies that we love. I decided not to put mine on sticks this year but I can attest that these cookies are definitely able to stand on a stick. The cookies I made were 5/8" thick with royal icing and very yummy!! Also, the dough does not spread and loose its shape at all when baking. It is hard to tell in the pictures but some of the cookies have a scalloped edge. If you are interested in the recipes you can find it here. http://cookiemadness.net/?p=586 Look for Michelle Bommarito's Sugar Cookies for sticks.
MaKayla is enjoying her sweet reward after her efforts.
Valentine's gifts we gave the kids. I love couponing and saving lots of money. Can you believe I was able to get those back packs for only $1.
The kids made us Valentine's at daycare.

Curlies!

February 8, 2010 - I am very behind on getting MaKayla's 3rd year pictures done. Normally I am on the ball when it comes to pictures so I am not quite sure what happened this time. MaKayla was very excited about picture day. She even made a very special request. She asked to have "curlies like Mommy!" How could I refuse! I made little pins curls all over her head with bobby pins while her hair was damp and let her run around until dry. Just like my Grandma did with me when I was little.
She was so proud of her "curlies"

Dressing like Mommy!

February 1, 2009 - MaKayla loves to go into my closet and dress up in my clothes. Here she is showing off her newest designer look.
Daddy and Noah snuggling on the couch. You have to treasure every precious still second with Noah because they don't happen that often!
February 3, 2010 - MaKayla had a little dance recital just for the parents. My pictures never turn out very well in the studio sorry.
