A Good Day for Flying a Kite!

September 27, 2009 - MaKayla has been asking to fly her kite and today was the perfect day. It was a warm windy day. MaKayla wanted to hold the kite by herself which proved to be a bad idea. She let go and then started to cry as it flew over a house. Andy ran it down and was able to catch it. Go Daddy!
Noah wanted to wear this helmet and push his sister's jeep around. He loves to push it instead of riding it.

3rd Birthday Party

September 26, 2009 - We stayed at my parents house for the weekend. We decided to have a birthday party for her in Illinois so all the family could celebrate with her. MaKayla is resting up at Nana & Papa's house before her party.
Grandma Morris is showing MaKayla how to play the church piano.
Noah also gave it a try.
MaKayla choose her Belle dress to wear at her party. What a beautiful Princess!
I made another cake but the icing slipped down during our long travel.
A whole box of Princess shoes. Most of her presents were Princess related.

Noah's 1st Haircut!

September 25, 2009 - Noah has needed a hair cut for some time now. We wanted to wait until we came back to Illinois to have our good friend Jody give him his first hair cut. Daddy had the honor of making the first snip!
Noah was such a good boy and say very still while Jody cut all of his curls off.

My big boy!
Looking better already!

My two handsome men. Do you see a resemblance?

Daddy's Princess

September 23, 2009 - MaKayla and Daddy were having a special father daughter moment so I took this picture from a distance as not to intrude.

Daycare birthday party

September 22, 2009 - MaKayla had a little birthday party at our daycare provider Cindy's house. Cindy gave her a new book and I couldn't get her to look away long enough to get a good picture.
She picked out these cupcakes at the store to bring as a treat.

MaKayla's 3 Year Checkup

September 21, 2009 - MaKayla had her 3 year check up today. Stats: height 36 3/4 inches and in the 50th percentile, weight 29 pounds and in the 50th percentile. She did great at the doctor's until it came time for her flu vaccine. She tensed up which made it worse!

Happy 3rd Birthay Princess MaKayla!

September 20, 2009 - MaKayla turned 3 years old today and it doesn't seem possible! Where has the time gone? The Princess Fairy left her this Snow White dress, gloves and purse. She loves, loves, loves Princesses!
After church, we let MaKayla pick what she wanted to do. She said she wanted to go to the park. I was surprised because her presents were at home waiting for her.
We went to Lions Park and had a picnic of McDonald's and played. It was a beautiful day and we had lots of fun together!
After returning home, MaKayla was excited about opening her gifts. Everything was Princess related.
MaKayla requested a Cinderella cake with a pink dress. I attempted to make my first decorative cake which I have to say I was quite proud of! The best thing was that MaKayla absolutely loved it!
MaKayla took off her dress so she wouldn't get it dirty and I couldn't get her to put anything on, oh well!

The aftermath of the cake: MaKayla wanted pink and white cake so I did different layers.
After dinner, MaKayla wanted to roast marshmallows at a camp fire. You don't have to ask Daddy twice.
Anyone for tea? My sister Roxy sent MaKayla this cute Princess Belle tea set.
Andy and I had to sit and have tea only to find out we were not allowed to touch the milk or sugar. =) I guess that only the hostess can serve those items.

Apple picking time

September 10, 2009 - Noah fell and skinned his knee. He is showing off his band-aid.
September 12, 2009 - I took this picture of Ike in our backyard. Isn't he cute?
September 13, 2009 - Noah is eating an apple from our baker's apple tree in the front yard. They are tart but he does not mind. Everyday went over to the tree and asked for an apple before we went on our walk. He would sit in his little red car eating his apple while I pushed him around the neighborhood. He is going to miss them now that the season is over.
MaKayla and Noah were helping me sort the "yummy" vs. "yucky" apples into separate buckets during harvest time.
Noah is sampling an apple to make sure they are okay for the rest of us! =)
MaKayla's face sure tells me that the apples are tart. I think I will let the kids eat them and I will wait for the apple pie!
MaKayla helped me make an apple pie from our harvest. It was a good feeling to make something that you watch grow. MaKayla tried to sneak a bite while I took this picture. All that hard work and MaKayla didn't end up liking the pie.

Dance Class

MaKayla has been asking to take dance lessons for awhile now. We made a promise with her that once her potty chart was all full she could start taking dance lessons. While we were Up North over Labor Day weekend she worked really hard on her potty chart and didn't have any accidents when she was awake. So, as soon as we got home we looked into dance lessons. There is a dance studio about a mile away from our home which is very convenient. She will be taking a ballet/tap/jazz class every Wednesday from 5-6pm. It is so much fun watching her interests spark! September 9, 2009 - MaKayla was so excited for her first day of dance class. All day long I kept hearing, "Are we going to dance class now?" Here she is all ready for class. She had to wear her tutu.
We went early to have her fitted for tap and ballet shoes. Now she is all ready!
Here is MaKayla during her class. Sorry the photo is a little dark. There are benches outside the class with a one way mirror so that parents can watch but the kids can't see their parents.
Here she is looking at herself in the mirror while she is going her leg work. It was so cute watching her.
One more picture of her dancing in class.
