6 Months Old!!

It is so hard to believe that MaKayla is a half of a year old already! Time is going by too quickly! MaKayla is growing now by the day. She has been showing interest in our food over the past few weeks but we have held off starting solids until her 6-month birthday. Hopefully it will make her less likely to get my food allergies. So, we woke up early and sang HAPPY BIRTHDAY like we do every month. Then, we tried cereal for the first time. Or should I say she spit it out again, and again, and again. She will get the hang of it after awhile.
Nope, I am on to you! If I keep my mouth shut they can’t shove that gruel in my mouth!
Ohhh, they tricked me again!
Here is MaKayla’s 6-month picture next to her Pooh bear. "If you are wondering why I have a red mark over my left eye it is because I feel over the first time Mommy tried to take this picture."
MaKayla was so cute playing with her Leap Frog Caterpillar. She loves to hear it sing. "What I really like is to bite on it."

Busy Weekend - Part 2

MaKayla surprised me by walking to the bathroom while I was getting ready Sunday Morning. Well, with Daddy’s help anyway. She has been able to stand for a long time now but this is the first time she has actually walked. It is so much fun to watch her grow!
=Daddy put together MaKayla’s new high chair together and of course we had to let MaKayla take a test ride. Only two more days until she gets to try cereal. This high chair is super cute with its rainforest look and cool toy that sits on the tray while Mommy is getting the food ready. The best thing is it does not fall off!
Sunday afternoon was Laura’s bridal shower. It was so nice to see Laura, Joe and the family. Less than three months until the wedding bells are chiming.

Busy Weekend

We had a very busy weekend! Saturday morning, Curt, Jody, Olivia & Jillian Valk came by to visit MaKayla. It was their first time seeing MaKayla. The girls sure where good with her. I think I found a future baby sitter.

Grandpa Johnson and Grandma Elaine came by in the afternoon for a visit. MaKayla sure is popular!
Sunday morning, I decided to try and give MaKayla a bath in the kitchen sink. She is getting a little too big for her baby tub but the kitchen sink proved to be a challenge as well. She cannot sit up on her own which made it very difficult to try and wash her. Daddy ended up having to give a helping hand.

Dinner with friends

Saturday, March 10th, was the first time we took MaKayla out to dinner with us. My friend Nikki and her boyfriend John meet us at church on Saturday night. Afterwards we went to dinner at Cheddar’s. We had a great time. MaKayla was such a good girl! It was so nice to spend time with Nikki. We don’t get to see each other as often as we would like to. I miss ya girl!

Mouth fascination

Sandy, a coworker from Taylor, gave MaKayla this little ducky that quacks. MaKayla just loved trying to eat its beak. She is going through the stage where she likes to put everything in her mouth. I think that her chompers are moving around inside her gums.
I just love the expression on her face!
Ike loves to give MaKayla kisses. MaKayla is not always so keen in reciprocating Ike’s love. Here she is telling him off.
I love this picture of MaKayla in her froggy towel after Daddy just gave her a bath. There is nothing sweeter than the smell of a baby!

Newspaper mmmmm good!

On Sunday, March 4th, I was reading the paper with MaKayla in my arms when all of a sudden little hands discovered they could rip paper. She had fun listening to the sound and trying to eat the newspaper. It is so much fun watching her discover new things. After about 15 minutes of fun we decided we better wash the black off her hands before she got the ink in her mouth.
Grandma Baker gave MaKayla this dog for Christmas. It is way bigger than she is and just too cute to she her cuddling her stuffed animal.
